Album Notes

The history of Splash'N Boots can be traced back to 2004 in Kingston, Ontario. It was there, while
attending Queens University, Taes and Nick (aka Splash'N Boots) performed their 1st concert together as part of a class project, at the local Library. After performing 3 original songs to 14 unsuspecting people, Taes and Nick could have stopped there at the height of their game…however, they realized in that fifteen minute show that there was no going back….Splash'N Boots was born. They kept on finding places to perform in the area and then, with money they didn't have, they recorded and released their first album "Getting our Feet Wet" to a growing fan base. Upon graduation in 2005, to valid confusion of their parents… and themselves :), Taes and Nick took Splash'N Boots full-time on the road.

Since then, they have released 2 more independent albums: "Manatee Bay" and "Popcorn Pickles and Parrots" with sales embarking on 5000 copies. "Popcorn Pickles and Parrots" was awarded an International iParenting Media Award for Top Children's Recording and the Hamilton Music Awards also presented the same album with the 2006 Children's Album of the Year. The Casablanca Kids label recognized the originality of their songwriting and placed 3 of their songs on two different, award-winning compilation CD's along side Fred Penner and Sharon Lois and Bram.

It is their live show that remains the heart and passion of Splash'N Boots. Taes and Nick have turned up the energy for audiences in venues of all shapes and sizes all across Canada, and happily agreed to perform in Bermuda for 8 shows in March of '07. 2007 also saw Splash'N Boots travel half way around the world to Australia, where they shared the stage with the Wiggles characters at Australia's biggest Children's Festival. In 2008, Splash'N Boots will take their shows to the Middle East where they have been asked to perform in Bahrain, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. They have since performed over 400 shows.

Splash'N Boots were recognized in 2007 by the Canadian music industry, and their incredible fans, when they were voted "Canadian Children's Music Group of the Year" at the Independent Music Awards in Toronto. Still thinking perhaps a technical error occurred at the polls, as legendary Robert Munsch and Jack Grunsky were also
nominated, Taes and Nick were more then honored all the same.

With a busy tour schedule and production of a new album, a radio show and a television pilot on the go, Splash'N Boots are so grateful to be able to do what they absolutely love. They also want to thank those 14 people at the library for singing and dancing along to those original 3 songs. On a side note, in response to the often debated topic among parents, Taes and Nick are not brother and sister but in fact, were married in 2005….to each other.
