If so.....
Introducing Splash'N Boots latest album....
A wildly rhythmic, uncontrollably catchy,
and genuinely listenable musical birthchild of Raffi and The Barenaked Ladies.....
Popcorn, Pickles and Parrots!
Created by the young upcoming duo Splash’N Boots (aka Taes and Nick), Popcorn, Pickles and Parrots is a varied mixture of musical styles: flipping between songs with cool southern groove to sea-faring eastern jigs, Old Fashioned hoe-down country, folk and Pop rock, this CD will most certainly get all members of the family body surfing in the living room. But the greatest part is that Splash’N Boots will be dancing right along side you. The genuine honesty Taes and Nick bring to their vocals transports them right through the CD player into your house. Taes and Nick have returned to the roots of what Canada is famous for; Real music sung by real people, for all members of the family.
To record this album Splash’N Boots teamed up with one of Canada’s top producer’s, Bob Doidge whose past credits include U2, Gordon Lightfoot, Sarah McLaughlin and Raffi, at Grant Avenue Studio in Hamilton. “This album is top-notch. Taes and Nick have a very unique writing style that sets them apart from other children’s musicians, and the beauty of these songs is their universal appeal not only to children but audiences of all ages”- Bob Doidge. A variety of weird and authentic instruments fills each track ranging from a genuine 5 piece brass band, to kitchen spoons, a farfeeza, and a solo played on the Deer Toes (real deer toes!). Each song has wonderfully creative instrumentation that coordinates specifically with the lyrics. The drum kit for a song about our nation’s dollar was created entirely from hitting coin filled buckets, and “Thelma Pickles” (*the name of John Lennon’s first girlfriend) was inspired by the The Beatles. The wide range of instruments, vocal styles and rhythms will leave you and your children pulling out pots, pans and dried corn to make your own band to play along with Splash’N Boots.
“Popcorn, Pickles and Parrots” will inspire children everywhere to want to hop on the closest parrot and fly to the Eiffel tower for a big bowl of spaghetti. A trend will be started as families across the country clear away their living room furniture to have a hip shakin root-tootin square dance. So let’s put our voices together, shake our shoulders to the beat and give a big WHOOPIE for "Popcorn, Pickles and Parrots!"
Mom and Dad be Forewarned: Popcorn, Pickles and Parrots has been known to be a huge party hit long after the kids are in bed.

I can offer you no greater compliment than this – “Popcorn, Pickles and Parrots” has bumped the Wiggles from one of the spots on our stereo CD changer. That is an accomplishment.

I Thought that this CD was delightful. The cover was really great and international. I loved that there was such an array of instrumentation and fun voices throughout. The kids loved the snapping in monster party, it made them want to creep around and really internalize the beat and expression. There was a very world feeling to the music while it was still very fun and light. Whatever
the weather used some great vocabulary that the children wanted to know the meaning of. I’m with you is a
great song to share with your little one and Kookookamachoo is a modern children’s Maragaritaville. The popcorn song is one that I play before movietime when the children know they are about to get popcorn!”
