Album Notes

What happens when Lou Reed, Kurt Cobain, Neil Peart and Art Alexakis get together?

I have no idea, but it might just sound a little like Splat's CD: Yeah, Sure, Whatever...

Truly a mix of musical mayhem in one heck of a tasty smorgasbord.

If you don't like one song try another! They each have their own distinct flavor.

Pat, Steve, Hakan and Pete sequestered themselves into a remote studio, locked the door, ate the key and recorded for two very demented months. What you hear is not only the result of Divine inspiration, but slight to moderate nerve deafness.

But really! This CD is a culmination of three years of touring in the New York metro area (CB's, The Wetlands, The Elbow room, etc.). Having one hell of a time, rehearsing, recording and performing.

We hope you enjoy this effort from Splat! We had so many people say they loved the CD, that we thought we would bring it over to CD Baby for all the world to hear.

Hope you like it.

Rowdy, savage wit on a stick. I'm still listening to it.

"Yeah sure whatever..." is rowdy, savage wit on a stick. A dark blend of rock and roll and Jersey attitude potent enough to snap the spine of Bruce Springstein (when he still made albums blue collar workers didn't picket) If I was a stalker these guys would need several restraining orders and lots of duck tape.

A good CD featuring excellent songwriting
author: Joe Malone
The best thing about the very good Splat CD is the songwriting (which I find very adept). Whether penning ballads, 3 minute or under rock songs, or longer tracks featuring choirs and horns, the songwriting is tight. Great melodies! I know this because every time I play the CD (which I recently purchased on a whim) I find myself humming one of the tracks for the next couple hours. If I had to say, "Weeble" is my favorite track, although lately I've been getting into "Somersault". The writing, while not as strong as the musical vibe, fits most the songs nicely. Another stand-out with SPLAT is the lead guitar which has a Mark Knoppfler (of Dire Straits for all you kiddies!) quality...a kind of funky, quirky blues style. Is there any way to get on their mailing list? Keep on rocking in the free world!

Impressed by the range of musical styles!
author: Bruce Bodega
I really enjoyed Splat's "yeah, sure, whatever". The songs are catchy, and each has its own distinctive style. Rockers, ballads, funk, blues, and many other styles are mixed and matched to create the album's sound.
