Album Notes

ONE HUNDRED PERCENT (100%) OF THE ARTIST'S PROFITS FROM THIS CD GO TO 9/11-RELATED CHARITIES.

The Queen of Celtic Pop (singer/songwriter and former New Christy Minstrel) Susan Palmer Marshall and her Emmy Award-winning husband (lyricist/producer) Alexander "Sandy" Marshall - share the inspiration for their 5th collaboration, REMEMBER.

The Marshalls live just north of what has come to be known as "Ground Zero". In the days that followed 9/11 they came up with the idea of this tribute album.

"Kristy Anne" was inspired by a "missing" poster they saw right after the attacks. The poster featured a picture of a smiling, blonde-haired, green-eyed young woman, wearing a bridal veil. Sting's wonderful classic "Fields of Gold" is given a Celtic flair in this tender cover. "Commit Random Acts of Kindness" offers you a bit of nourishing advice that we hope you'll take to heart. "Magical Girl" tells of interesting people you meet when you dream among the hazel wood. "Robbie, Why'd You Leave Us?" extends an homage to the Scottish Bard, Robert Burns. "Remember" is an old standard by the great Harry Nilsson given new meaning by recent events. "Minstrel Boy/Will Ye No' Come Back Again?" are two traditional Celtic favorites that are narratives for peace, loyalty and honor. "Wee Kirk on the Moors" tells of a church (kirk) in Scotland and how a couple met there and fell in love. "United We Stand" tells the twisted zealots who attacked our country that, more than ever, United We Stand! "All Through the Night" offers a softly weaved rendition of the ancient Welsh lullaby. "Ballad of Paddy Brown" gives us the true saga of one of the brave New York City firefighters who died on 9/11.

REMEMBER was recorded in New York City and Los Angeles. Musicians from all over the country generously donated their talents to the project, including John McEuen (a five-time Grammy nominee and former leader of The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band), Jon Gordon (former musical director and lead guitarist for Madonna and Suzanne Vega), Fiddlin' Phil Salazar (of String Wizards fame), Whistling Gypsy Bob Pegritz, Worldclass Bagpiper Lawrence Cole, Bodhran player Siobhan Egan Moore, members of the prestigious New York Chamber Symphony and a 60-voice children's choir from Lancaster, CA.

REVIEWS

Touching, beautiful and tender. The BEST lyrics ever written.
author: Ian Fox
This is one of the best CDs you've never heard of. Susan Palmer Marshall has a lovely clear mellow sound and you can understand every word she sings. Some of the lyrics on this CD (The Ballad of Paddy Brown, Cristy Ann, United We Stand, Magical Girl) are some of the best ever written. Brilliant!

Iloved this cd. Especially the ballad of Paddy Brown. He is my brother. I am so honored to have this song to remember him by. It is so important that he is remembered, and your song will help. I also passed on the info to family and friends to purchase it... thank you so much
