"The classiest country rocker i've heard all year. Everything works here-the kick-butt tempo, the personable lead vocal, the squeeze-box and electric guitar solos, the little yodel touch, the perfect production and the solid songwriting. count me in" r

Album Notes

MY STORY: I was born and raised in a small town in upstate NY. I started playing music when I was a little kid. Started playing guitar and getting paid for it when I was barely a teenager. After banging around L.A. for a few years, I visited Nashville on a friends' advice and ended up moving there a short while after. I worked construction and bartended for the first couple years, writing songs whenever I had a minute to spare. After awhile that paid off and I found someone willing to bank-roll my talent (maybe I should say work ethic) and I started writing songs full-time and getting paid for it. All that hard-work had to lead to a few good things I guess; I got a song in a movie, a song on the radio, and a chance to perform on the Grand Old Opry, things were going great,
Then my publishing company closed.
Well I think I went back to painting houses for a week maybe before I made up my mind that I belonged in the music business and nowhere else and I started knocking on everyone's door and after awhile I got myself another publishing deal and I got a gig singing for a band that had a record deal, and I got some more songs recorded (by great artists you've probably never heard of)
And of course, after awhile the company closed and the band broke up.
And then the phone rang. Somebody wanted to know if I'd heard that there were auditions for the upcoming Season of Nashville Star going on and would I be going? Well the thought of being on reality TV didn't much appeal to me, but then, neither did the thought of going back to swinging a hammer all day, so I showed up for the audition and stood there in line behind a thousand people thinking "well this a waste of my time.." but wouldn't ya know, two days later when they narrowed things down from all those people, I was the last man standing. Go figure.
So I'm thinking this is finally gonna be my big break and for the next six months my life revolves around how I'm gonna get on this TV show and what I'm gonna do to win, and the moment arrives and it's "and the first contestant we'll be sending home is: Sean Patrick McGraw."
Arghhhh!!
Well, I suppose after all that some folks might take it as a sign and go back home and get a regular job, etc... I went into the studio and made a record. Then I went on the road. A lot. Then I made another record. And now I'm on the road in support of that record. It's called "SONGS FOR SATURDAY NIGHT," and it comes out of a year spent in Honky-Tonks and all that goes with it: dancin', drinkin', cheatin' etc...
It is a COUNTRY record, after all.
And I used to tend bar and I used to work construction, but....
What I AM is a country singer.

Country Rock at its best!
author: Bobby Rivers
These selections show that whatever "it" is in this game, Sean Patrick McGraw has it. Intrinsic vocals, good production, and energetic instrumentation make this cd an easy decision to take to the Cd Baby checkout lane. He does remind me of Dwight Yoakham and Kenny Chesney a bit.

This CD has everything you could ask for! Sean runs the gamut from Ballad to Rockin' and has once again given us a CD that will get played over and over again! Fiona is a classic! I'm Just A Man is just sooooo sexy! There is no filler in this CD...but then again with Sean there never is!

How To Save Country Music (without really trying)
author: Kenny Wright
With today's "Country" music (and it's so-called "artists") being in the sorry, convoluted state that it's in today, there's no wonder why Sean Patrick McGraw isn't a household name. "Songs For Saturday Night" is the most complete album I've heard from a country artist since some of the early Waylon Jennings releases, with every song easily as good as the next, and that's really saying something. As with all of Sean's previous work, each track is long on content, musicality and pure songwriting charm and short on the shallow, proto-hillbilly corporate hogwash being spoon fed to the masses on country radio these days. McGraw's voice is strong and pitch-perfect, without a hint of studio trickery, and the musical contributions from each session player are honest and inspired. "Songs For Saturday Night" is a real score and more than holds it's own with any major-label release available today. It's easy to see why Sean Patrick McGraw isn't a big star yet... he's got talent. Buy this album!
