Ramona Spooney has been singing since the age of three when her grandmother made the mistake of putting her on the "It's A Small World" ride at Disney - she hasn't been quiet since she heard that theme song!
Throughout her school years she was involved in numerous choruses in addition to being a soloist in Hunter College High School's Jazz and Senior choruses. Ramona has also been a featured singer in Queens and Long Island church choirs and can currently be heard on New York radio in Huntington Honda, Long Island.com and Ski Stop jingles and on the children's television show Zebby's Zoo.
Songwriting seemed to come naturally to Ramona who wrote poetry as a child. The skill was awakened through her association with the female folk trio Bad Assed Mamas and grew with BAM's baby sister Acoustic Madness.
In 1998 Frank Walker asked Ramona, his open mike friend, to help him write a song for his goddaughter's christening and "In Front of You" (re-released on the SpoonWalk debut "Every US") brought the songwriting duo together.
In the late 1980's through early 1990's, Frank was the keyboardist/backup vocalist/songwriter for the 8-piece Long Island horn band, ON-LINE performing a mix of party rock and roll covers and Chicago-style originals. After the group parted ways, Frank moved to the opposite end of the
spectrum and went solo acoustic. Since 1995 he has appeared at many Long Island-based coffee houses, restaurants, fairs, and private functions, doing a mix of covers and originals.
In so doing he has cultivated a friendly and supportive community of singers and musicians who play at the various open mic nights he hosts. A few of them donated their talents to the CD.
In July 2000, Ramona & Frank came together to form SpoonWalk and began writing and recording the 10-song original CD which they co-produced with Tom Cavanagh for his Bent Pussycat Records label entitled "Every Us" -- released in the spring of 2001. And now the real work begins.....

Frank and Ramona are both wonderful musicians whom complement each other in such a way, they are certainly in sync. Ramona's soulful voice has brought me to tears on most occasions that I have seen her, while Frank after 20 something years has always continued to amaze with his uncanny ear for what sounds wonderful. I have had the pleasure to perform with both of them and can't wait till their next project, and hope I am involved in some way KEEP ROCKING MY FRIENDS!

SpoonWalk-Every Us

Ramona Spooney and Frank Walker, collectively known as SpoonWalk, have come together to create a CD that is both unique and very beautiful.
Some of the uniqueness comes from the concept of the album -
this is a CD full of love songs that manage to be uplifting without being saccharine.
This sounds like a simple thing, until you realize that most love songs either fall into "done me wrong" category, or into teenybop-pop-dom.
Spooney and Walker's songs reflect a more mature sensibility -these are people who have known unhappiness, but have found a way to move beyond it.
The music is hard to categorize, for one - it's not quite pop, not quite jazz, definitely not R&B.
It reflects all of these influences.
It doesn't sound like the radio these days, which may not help them commercially, but is a good thing from an artistic point of view.
As a vocalist, Spooney is a standout.
Her voice has a rich, highly pleasant quality, and while she clearly can belt it with the best of them, she is often co
