Album Notes

Stephen Pride, youngest brother of Country Legend CHARLEY PRIDE, was born in Marks, Mississippi. Like most of his family, Stephen was musically inclined and grew up singing in the choir at church and school.

During his college years Stephen started playing with a band on weekends. He soon would be performing at state fairs in the Mississippi & Louisiana area thus starting his career in the Country Music field. His performances would soon take him to numerous states and he soon became known as a dedicated performer with a loyal following.

Stephen moved to Dallas in 1980. In 1982 he married the love of his life, Pam, and started his family. Being a dedicated family man, he soon found himself working for steady employment while still pursuing his music career. Texas soon became his home and he began performing in the area part-time while dedicating himself to his family.

He would soon be performing at well-known venues in Texas like the Crystal Chandlier (Dallas), Tommy Allsup's Saloon (Dallas), Billy Bob's (Ft. Worth), Gilley's (Houston), The Longhorn Ballroom (Dallas) as an opening act for Roger Miller, Desert Rose Band, Louise Mandrell, Charlie Daniels and Willie Nelson, and as a featured artist at the Johnny High's Country Music Revue (Arlington Music Hall), Wylie Opry, Mesquite Opry, Grapevine Opry, just to name a few.

Other appearance performances include The Jimmy Rogers Festival ( Meridian, Mississippi), Roy Orbison Festival( Wink, Texas), Charley Pride Theater(Branson, Missouri).

In 1994, Stephen had an unexpected performance at the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas. During the middle of Charley's performance, Stephen was asked by his brother to come on stage and perform. Stephen had only come to enjoy the show. However, after his performance of Travis Tritt's "Help Me Hold On", he was given a standing ovation from the crowd and had an excellent write up in the paper the following day. The combination of Stephen's vocal range and the haunting "Pride" timbre makes for a soulful treat that's hard to beat.

In the course of his career, Stephen has made a lot of friends in the music business, who have encouraged and given support to him in his musical journey. Stephen gives thanks to God eveyday for all of this.

With this being Stephen's first album release, the fans worldwide will now have the opportunity to see and hear what others have seen and heard in the past that there may just be another Country Music Star on the horizon.
