Spyder G BIO

(The artist formally known as Garland Headley), and his forth-coming album
"URBANISMS fo Rreaall..."


Like the FORD Company Garland... errr - Spyder G decided to "RETHINK" his market position and utilize all of his resources as a respected artist among his colleagues. "I wanted to take a year off after spending two years promoting 'Dimensions of Faith' (Nominated for Outstanding Christian Album Recording and Best Album Design PMA 2001), and not really "feelin'" the kinda success I was hopin' for ...you know.” “I didn't wanna to blame anyone in my management or otherwise... I just got to that point as an indie where it seemed like I hit a brick wall, and nothin’ seemed to shake it. So I had to make some important decisions."

So that's what he did and out came this "New Vehicle" of bumpin' hip hop Anthems, caressing praise worthy Thug-lovin’ rhymes, melded together by some good 'ole fashion Old school back beats. This first single "Hip Hop Anthem" is said to be “…the one to blow up off the charts like Pele on Steroids!” – S.G.

“On a personal level I think that this is the most honest work I’ve accomplished yet. I don’t wanna sound like I’m blowing my own whistle but I really think this will be quite successful! And to answer your next question… yes I had to get into a totally different headspace for this album! It was a heck of a challenge! Not because of any “skill-set” reasons…(laughs) “oh… not at all”. I’ve always been articulating enough to translate exactly what I want to say to any jargon, which I’m addressing. It was a challenge because; and when listening to the album you’ll realize this… I had to revisit many repressed and belligerent times – experiences of my friends that significantly affected me and even some of my own parodies.” S.G

“It is my wish that my previous fans will listen to this album and recognise the reality check behind such vibes as: “2 guys 1 heart”, “Fixated”, “Why did U”, “Somebody’s Somebody” and “Can’t hide pretty”. The new Spyder G Album "URBANISMS fo Rreaall..." will be available in stores October 21, 2004.

The media has always been kind to Garland (now Spyder G) and very supportive of all his efforts as a progressive, forward thinking artist - The CBC, CFQC-TV (CTV) - Saskatoon, The Star Phoenix, The Gravelbourg Tribune, CFCR-FM (Saskatoon), and E-Clips Channel 7 (Regina).
