Establishing a twisted path of hybrid rock, featuring aggressive six-string bass and soaring electric guitars, fused with funk, jazz, classical, and other influences. "Under a Raven's Review" is the first full-length album released by Squanky Kong. To avoid being pigeon-holed, it was a goal to release a diverse album that shows the various directions that the music takes, while staying rooted in dominate Rock influences. The majority, two-thirds, of the album is of the Rock variety, while the last third shows the experimental side with Jazz, Latin, and other excursions. Future albums will focus more on the Rock only, with side albums venturing into the experimental territory.
This album features musicians joining Squanky on bass and guitar, including Joseph Wooten on Keyboards (Steve Miller Band, Victor Wooten Band, Joseph and the Hands of Soul), Danner on Vocals (Domeshots), Halie Loren on Vocals, and many others.
