Album Notes

Squeezebox Stompers

Listening to the Squeezebox Stompers is like taking a virtual stroll through the streets of the French Quarter hearing the sounds of Cajun, Zydeco, Blues, and Swamp Pop originals swirling in the sultry air. It’s all very lively and danceable foot stompin’ music drawn from the traditions of American Roots Music.

The band plays a multitude of instruments including: piano and Cajun accordions, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, harmonica, acoustic bass, triangle, rub-board, and drums, with the entire band singing lead and harmony vocals. They have two releases- their self-titled trio CD and their upcoming new release “Rockin’ Ralph’s Roadhouse, ” songs from the musical about the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and its impact on bar patrons at a roadhouse outside of New Orleans. As veteran performers for the past 25 years, various members of the band have distinguished themselves as music award winners: Ralph Tufo has won 4 Boston Music Awards as a former member of the Boogaloo Swamis; Larry Plitt was the 2007 winner of the Boston Folk Festival Songwriting Contest.

For the past 4 years, the band has performed at Mardi Gras dance parties, Cajun dances, coffeehouse concerts, festivals, weddings, parties, and functions throughout New England. For more information, log on to squeezeboxstompers.com.
