Album Notes

She likes to call herself SYNTHESIS...the act of fusing distinct entities to a new, unique creation.

With songwriting and vocal skills that groove and dip across genre, Stephanie Renee masterfully combines influences from jazz, R&B, house and rock music into a mix of sounds that seduces and entrances her listeners.

No stranger to the music world, Stephanie's voice has been featured on several major label commercial recordings, including Who Is Jill Scott and Patti LaBelle's When A Woman Loves. Other CD/single releases include: a Steal Vybe remix of the club jam ESP on King Street Sounds; Knowing, a collaboration with Jersey producers Lefunken; Fever on Deep Haven Music; and another Marlon D spiritual house collabo titled No Greater Love. In 2007, Stef had her first inroad into the Asian music market on a collaboration with Swedish producer Opolopo titled Deeper Love, released on JVC/Japan. 2008 was an intense time of learning and growth for Stephanie, and she's now back in the studio actively putting together her next solo project, HOT LIPS.

A respected promoter and rising media mogul, Stephanie pours her dynamic energies into the expansion of her non-profit arts education foundation Soul Sanctuary and her creative services & artist management company Creator's Child Productions, among a wide variety of other performance and educational endeavors. Stephanie's first documentary film, NO SUCH THING AS NEOSOUL, was named an Official Selection for the 2005 STARZ Denver Pan African Film Festival, and screened on Washington DC cable network DCTV in conjunction with the CAN A SISTA ROCK A FILM festival in celebration of Black Music Month 2006. She served as co-executive producer for GenIsUs: Revitalized Teen Talk, a 30-minute public affairs program which aired on Comcast Cable Greater Philadelphia until the station went dark at the end of 2008. And, as the new Multimedia Director for HeartSpeak (an initiative of the non-profit Arts & Spirituality Center), Stephanie is back behind the camera and in the classroom, helping Philadelphia-area youth express their views about violence and the world through involvement in radio, TV, film and creative writing projects.

Stephanie Renee...bringing it all together and loving every minute of it.

SYNTHESIS, indeed!

Now this is the way CDs are supposed to present themselves - all talent and no filler! I am quite pleased that Stephanie Renee has the courage to take us back to a time when good music came from the soul. Lament is quite extraordinary! But my favorite is I.D.Ology, a solid banga. This CD is a welcomed edition to the jeep's collection. Thank you Stephanie for giving us a glimpse of what true artistry is!

The music, word power n' sangin' is phat n' all of that! The music kept me wanting to hear the words and not the other way around. The mix of passion and spiritual enlightenment was a pleasant surprise. It gave depth and substance to the voice of a true soul sistah. I'm feelin' ya lil' sis! I will be playing it on my radio show...WORD UP! "a spoken word experience you will need to hear" on WCHE 1520AM The talk of Chester County, PA! every Friday 1-3PM...can a sistah promote or what? Write on!
