Album Notes

Award winning jazz vocalist and songwriter, Sharon Schmidt started singing professionally at the age of 18 where she performed at the Nightingale Ballroom in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

She is influenced by Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Rosemary Clooney, Billie Holiday, Diana Krall, Keely Smith and the tunes of Nat King Cole.

After raising her family, she has returned to her singing career with various local bands in the Milwaukee and Waukesha area.

You may have heard Sharon at the former Red Mill, the Midway Hotel, Piano Blu, and The Golden Mast. She has also been a guest artist with the All Star Superband.

Currently, Sharon can be heard at Neighbor's Bistro in Waukesha , The Golden Mast on Okauchee Lake, The Cornerstone Restaurant in Genessee Depot and the 2006 Sum merfest music festival.

Sharon has just completed her long awaited first CD called "Dancing In The Kitchen" a jazz collaboration packed with the strong musicianship of Sam Steffke on keyboard, Tom McGirr on bass, Tim Bell on sax Tom Utschig on drums. The CD has just been released.

Great recording project!
