ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Suzanna Sifter began studying jazz piano in high school. During those
formative years Berklee College of Music made its first impact through the annual high school jazz band festivals. Soon it was apparent that Suzanna was destined for a career as a pianist and she enrolled at Berklee as a
performance major. Her major influences in college were Hal Crook and Herb
Pomeroy. During her Berklee years she began composing and performing her
original compositions in area jazz clubs. Suzanna graduated Magna Cum Laude from Berklee in 1988.

Eager to continue her education, she enrolled in the Master's degree program at New England Conservatory. In the jazz studies program she studied with Tom McKinley and Dave Holland. Meanwhile, she began her much loved teaching career at Berklee, and to this day teaches as as Associate Professor in the Piano Department.

She has recorded two CD's as a leader, "Flowers for You" and "Awakening". She was the featured pianist on Tony Lada's CD "On the Edge", and her composition "Victor Blue" was recorded on this CD. Another original,"Lines for Charlie" was recorded on Dino Govoni's CD, "In the Library".

Suzanna has performed extensively on the East Coast and Canada in various
jazz venues such as Ryles and The Regatta Bar. She has performed with Casey Scheuerell, Dino Govoni, George Garzone, Alan Dawson, John LaPorta, Yoron Isreal, Bob Moses, Tony Lada, and Jerry Bergonzi, to name a few.
