Album Notes

The Side Street Strutters have presented formal concerts and symphony POPS performances in theaters and performing arts centers in 50 states and 7 European countries since the bands inception in 1983. With extensive national and international touring experience, along with 21 years of weekly performances at Disneyland, the ensemble has developed its own unique formula for presenting over a half century of jazz styles.

Their genuine love of music and enthusiasm for presenting concerts is captured in this live in concert performance. On the disc, the Strutter's present early New Orleans Jazz and Dixieland, Blues, Swing, and Jazz Standards popularized by such artists as Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Porter, and Gershwin. Also included on the disc are two musical selections featuring two of the rarest saxophones in the world; a sopranino and 6 1/2 foot tall contrabass sax. There is even a tap dance number on this disc. 60 minutes of great music!
