Back To Bourbon Street celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Side Street Strutters Jazz Band. Back in 1983, 6 Arizona State University music students formed the Side Street Strutters. One year later, the Strutters entered a national collegiate dixieland band competition and were fortunate to receive first place honors. Winning the competition resulted in a national concert tour and various radio and television appearances on programs such as the Today Show, Merv Griffin Show and Jerry Lewis Telethon. In 1985, the Strutters accepted a full time performance position as the in-house jazz band at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA. During that 22 year time, the ensemble presented formal concerts and student outreach programs throughout the US and made numerous appearances at festivals and special events throughout Europe. In 2000, the Strutters unveiled a symphony pops program and have shared the stage with professional symphony orchestras including the Atlanta, Houston, Charlotte, Rochester, Phoenix, Long Beach, Jacksonville, San Antonio, New Mexico symphonies.
Back To Bourbon Street is a collection of some of the Strutters most requested traditional dixieland melodies, presented in their own unique style.
