Steve Stange was born in Detroit Michigan in 1952 and remained in the Motor City area until 1979. He began playing guitar at the age of 8 and by the time he left Detroit at 27 had been heavily influenced by the local Detroit rock music scene and the music of Motown. Shortly after arriving in Tampa, Florida in 1979 Steve was introduced to traditional folk and blues music and began listening to artists like Mississippi John Hurt, Doc Watson and Elizabeth Cotten. He quickly traded in his electric guitar in for an acoustic guitar and by the early eighties was touring folk clubs, festivals and colleges. In 2003 he teamed up with songwriter Mike Ferguson and began work on this CD. After spending the next 6 years writing and recording, the CD was finished. This album is dedicated to all of the independent recording artist and writers who have worked hard to have their music heard.
