Album Notes

Stabbingback is a dual-genre band from Seattle. With each album release being in tandem, one will be an aggressive metal, and the other an acoustic rock style. On one hand, Stabbingback blends a classic metal style with melodically driven vocals and a powerful modern edge to form a unique sound. The music is very personal, pained and full of anger. This raw sound aims to start a fire one\'s soul and mind. On the other hand, the acoustic music is, by it\'s very nature, less abrasive than the metal. Although not as in-your-face, Stabbingback\'s acoustic material is every bit as emotional and intense. All the songs are originally written for this style, and are not \"unplugged\" versions of the metal music.

Founder and songwriter Gage Sifuentes (Vocals/Lead Guitar) formed Stabbingback in 2005. The band got off to a less than auspicious beginning but emerged through difficult times to create a formidable lineup. With the arrival of bassist Jay Barrett in late 2005, a solid foundation was layed down. Building on that foundation and adding their own unique abilities are recent additions, guitarist Paul Wolf, and drummer Ben Gregory. Each member is a strong musician in his own right, and with that individual strength they bring a collective confidence to the band and the music they make.

Indeed they rock, certainly worth all of my pretty pennies. a slight nudge of improvement on lyrics, and more complex notation (chorded and polyharmonic) and they would be a solid 5. Great melodies and rhythms, perfect voice, I'd recommend to anyone who likes the heavy stuff. Absolution is their soft and accoustic album, so check the samples and enjoy!

I waited almost a year for this. The album is full of blow your mind music, and although it doesn't quite compare with seeing them live, Redeemer now sits on the top of my stack of favorites!

If you like metal with great vocals and riffs, then you will definitely enjoy "Redeemer" from Stabbingback. The song writing really sets this band apart in the metal genre. There are riffs, vocal hooks and instrumental breakdowns that really stick in your head. Personal favorites to check out: "The Funeral" and "Crisis". With songs like these, I expect to hear a lot more from this band in the future. 5 stars, check it out!

This is now one of my top 3 favorite albums. This band absolutely ROCKS! I also heard some of their acoustic album and that one just might be as good or even better if that was humanly possible.
