Album Notes

Stacie Boschma is a performance poet, blogger, politics junkie, and ubergeek who lives in sunny Decatur, Georgia.

Her mind races constantly, but for the most part she avoids medication for the condition by crafting a poetry of the absurd that endeavors to highlight quirk by taking things too far. She is almost always grappling with bafflement.

Happy Rainbow Poems from the Unicorn Petting Zoo covers more than five years of work, ranging from classic performance pieces like The View from Gotham and A Poem About Markets and Bill, to strikingly contemporary poems like Freedom and About the Layoffs.

Stacie's work is driven by the single thought that an idea can only fully be explored by following it well past its logical conclusion. Happy Rainbow Poems from the Unicorn Petting Zoo does just that, landing somewhere beyond the sensible and taking listeners along on a buoyant, laugh-filled ride.
