Album Notes

We are the Listeners, The Stack's sophomore album, brings the band from the classic rock styles of their first album into their own carefully-crafted indie rock sound. Leaving in the Zeppelin licks and Beatles harmonies of 2004's Slipstream, We are the Listeners adds in The Stack's own sound, full of detail, lush "wall of sound" arrangements, and unique lyrics.

Released August 2006, We are the Listeners includes songs written over the course of the previous 3 years, including blasts of funk guitar in "Take It," waves of static in "Pocket," gentle acoustic pop in "Years and Years," and a shaking frantic groove in "San Quentin." Psychedelic noise coexists with sugar-sweet melodies to create The Stack's sound, both familiar and like nothing you've ever heard before.

The Stack's four members currently go to college up and down the west coast, but come together as often as they can to rock the night away all around Oregon.
