Album Notes

Los Angeles based singer/songwriter, percussionist and front woman Stacy Robin steps into center stage with the release of her long anticipated Solo CD, Some Kind Of Bird.

While bearing a familiar resemblance to her work with the alterna-pop-folk band 'Imaginary Friends' and 'goddess rock band 'Drawing Down the Moon, this album clearly establishes Stacy Robin as a solo artist through her passionate vocals and beautifully crafted and soulful lyrics. The tracks travel diverse roads; a touch of Middle Eastern flavor here, joyful pop there, multi-layered vocals to bare naked moments. The songs are a canvas capturing graphic and ethereal paintings about a life rich with love, loss and a relentless drive to meet challenges and master them.

Robin Co-produced this fusion of pop, rock, folk & world music with Producer Mark Keefner of Waymo Studios, as well as BrokenWave Music's Denis Magoffin and Seth Hartman of White Fire Music.

A gifted percussionist, she is joined by on these recordings by co-writers Donna Eveland (guitars, bass and drums) and Mark Keefner (almost everything.) Other musicians adding their talents to this CD included Patrick Bolen (guitars), Donna Rawlins(vocals), Tom McCauley (guitar, vocals), David James (violin), Michael Yorky (bass), Dayna Franklin (drums), Barrie Berg (percussion), Terry Spears (piano, guitar), Doug Gochman (guitar), Rebecca Kleinman (flute), Haim Russi (drums) and Seth Hartman (keyboards, guitars, vocals).

Stacy Robin's music has been heard on TV, Film and in Commercials, including Gateway Computers, Toyota, and Southwestern Bell ads.

Stacy Robin sing[s] with beauty and grace. If you thought that carefully constructed and tasteful pop music was out of fashion, think again. Add this among the year's best.
Kyrby Raine, INK 19

"Cleavage-friendly singer Stacy Robin belts it with aplomb."
