Stalking Jane celebrates their One Year Anniversary of playing live with the release of their CD Primitive Side. This live recording is from the first of two shows at the Doug Fir Lounge where they opened for Dahlia to a sold out house.
Stalking Jane began in November of 2005 and is reminiscent of all your favorite bands from the record label 4AD. Ambient Dream Pop reborn with nods to ethereal female fronted acts like Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, Lush and Curve. Stalking Jane has infused sounds from around the world with electronic machines to make a sound that is familiar yet uniquely theirs.
This 4 piece band based out of Portland Oregon has ascended into a world where the organic and the mechanical live in the melodic harmonies which they produce.
Opening up for international acts like IAMX, Stalking Jane is drawing a fan base in the Northwest by tantalizing fans at their shows by combining mesmerizing vocals with beats that dance between driving and hypnotic.

This is a new type of music for me. I find it a very pleasant sound, with a disturbing undercurrent, like a dream that is not really bad but reminds you of something dark. It is very creative, and the musicianship is great, especially the sometimes haunting vocals. If I had a problem at all it was that I could not hear all the words. This contributes to the mysterious dreamlike effect, but I think I am missing some great poetry and would like to ask that for the next album, Stalking Jane provides the words in the album.
