Album Notes

An enormously talented musician and composer, Jimmy Stallings has performed with many of the renown artists in the U.S. such as Canned Heat, Lynard Skynard, Charlie Daniels, and Texas Tornados. He was also the bass player for the Sir Douglas Quintet on their record “Mendocino” which was a big hit in the late 60’s.
Jimmy Stallings recorded his first hit record under the name “JJ Light” with his friend Bob Markley, who was then his Producer and co-writer. At that time they wrote a song called “Heya” on Liberty Records in 1969. The tune was very succesful in Germany and France and many other European countries. It was also covered by other artists like Geronimo-Zonk.
Jimmy Stallings now lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico with his wife of 42 years and loves playing guitar, bass, piano, and writing songs. He hopes to keep on writing and playing as long as he can and loves the simple life in New Mexico.
