Born in Texas but raised in Oklahoma, Stan Cox inherited his love of music from his Dad, Donley, and fine tuned his bass guitar skills at a early age. At the age of 8 years old, Stan found himself playing music along side his Dad, and other adult members. While his friends were going to parties and FFA meetings, Stan was helping provide the entertainment for those occasions
Paying his dues in any honky tonk, bar, club, or dancehalls, was a pleasure for Stan, and soon led to working with the \"Oasis Band\" that played for, and opened for, many Country Music Legends, including Jerry Reed, Hank Thompson, Johnny Paycheck, Johnny Bush, Faron Young and more.
Married to the love of his life,LaDanna, the two of them soon found they shared the passion for music, and started writing songs together.
Their love for children would soon lead them to become foster parents, although they had 5 children of their own. Soon they found that the kids that came to live with them, needed permanent parents, and adopted 10 more children. When asked if they would adopt more children in the future, Stan laughs and says \"if any kid needs us, we need them.\"
Today, Stan is concentrating on the songwriting part of his career, hoping to have that one song that becomes a part of Country Music history, and he states \"I don\'t just want to write a \'HIT\' song, I want to write a \'STANDARD\'.\"

Stan Cox will be a big star
author: Gail Graff
When I first heard Redneck, Alabama on Lonnie Ratliff's newsletter I knew I had to have this CD. What a treat to see a new artist sing original songs - half of them written by Stan and his wife. Stan Cox has achieved something few artists do today - his wonderfully rich voice and excellent choice of songs should appeal to traditional and new country music lovers. His obvious passion for his music makes you feel exactly what each song is meant for you to feel. I keep changing my mind about my favourite song - Goodbye Might Not Be The Thing To Do; Redneck, Alabama; Hank & Lefty's Ghost; Roses, Sweet Choc'lates and Wine(written by Dixon Devore II); How Does A Man Cry and Patty's Gonna Cry - oh heck I love them all. This is country music at it's best. Listen and you will fall in love with Stan Cox. You can go to his website, click on music and listen to the full version of five of these songs. www.standcox.com
