Album Notes

Musical Moonshine is the first album that Stan has created that is a truly "solo" album: recorded and produced entirely alone, with Stan singing all of the songs, and playing guitar on every track (and mandolin on a few.) The result is 13 songs that sparkle in brevity, clarity and directness. His songwriting style is honest and personal, drawing from his own life experiences for many of the songs.

This album owes a great deal to his relationship with his partner, Lynda. Several of the songs are love songs written for her, including "The Stars Sang a Song", which is the album's first single. But there is a darker tinge to some of the songs, whether dealing with pain ("As I Fall Away"), loss ("Waiting on the Wind") and illness ("Hold Tight to the Sky".) It is a remarkable album from a remarkable singer and guitarist who continues to hone his considerable songwriting talents.
