Album Notes

The three year relationship between the Maranatha School and Orphanage and KidsUganda (www.kidsuganda.com) has borne amazing fruit. A new girl's dormitory, chicken farm, and the "Adopt-a-Child" project are among many tangible results of our partnership. Yet what is wonderfully evident to me is that relationships - human and spiritual - have also blossomed in ways we never envisioned.
"Standing in the Gap" reflects the faith and creative synergy of two friends active in KidsUganda, Ken Hall and Jami Considine. Ken is a professional musician and Minister of Music at the Community Church of Lake Forest & Lake Bluff, and Jami is a professional voice over artist and active volunteer. Together, through a blend of original music, poetry and scripture, they've created an inspiring piece of spiritual art that reflects both the passion and compassion of their faith.
Listening to "Standing in the Gap" brought me peace and inspiration. Ultimately, it reminded me of Maranatha Founder Patrick Walusimbi's well-known words "we are too blessed to be depressed." Indeed, amidst ongoing struggles on the African continent and ever-present challenges at home "Standing in the Gap" is a reminder that we are greatly blessed.
