Staying Power

I realize there are people, dogs, and others that have been followers of this storyteller/musician longer than I. My experience began about about 28 yrs ago. Mr. Ridgway doesn't disappoint. This dvd is no different. So why continue to waste time reading my stupid review when the good people at CDbaby could be starting to package your order with this gem and sending it your way? Some things I'll never understand.

I think Stan is rather incredibly sexy. But what's even sexier is getting one seriously underpriced DVD with EVERY piece of footage a WOV completist could ask for. The menu and transitions between videos are hilarious...you can tell Stan had his hands (of love) in the entire process of putting this incredibly rare and worthwhile thing together. It's inexpensive and high quality. BUY IT and help support this old fringe cult leader! WE LOVE YOU STAN!

One of the best concerts I've seen was Stan at the Piggery in Byron Bay, Australia, many years ago. Sheer intense musical lunacy with great musicianship. Just what's captured on this DVD. Sign me up for the next one of contemporary performance. Being subversive in a 3 minute song is a rare skill worth emulating. Good one Stan!

His fine duo with Police's Stewart Copeland, "Don't Box Me In", is very Tuxedomoon-like...
More personnaly, I was astounded to realise he did a track for a french movie I saw as a kid (Terminus - a kind of french answer to Mad Max - with belgium/french mainstream icon Johnny Halliday), "End Of the Line" (a song I already knew as a bonustrack from the remastered version of "The Big Heat", his first solo LP), closing a circle...
