Album Notes

TO LISTEN TO THESE SONGS, GO TO the link on this page that says "Tory Z Starbuck website" it will take you to my "Sound Click" page. Click on the songs that say they are from the album "Sea Horse & Seraphim". (Unfortunately, on THIS page the low-fi AND hi-fi sounds DRASTICALLY unlike the cd. The vocals are unheard in most of the songs and the drums or bass are missing in others. In one song the vocals are there but the instruments are missing. It has something to do with converting the stereo signal into mono. I am sorry. They are working on it.)Try sampling the cd baby page for "Androidal Tissue", everything sounds right on it.
The Group:
Tory - vocals,guitars, synthesizer,acoustic/electronic drums/percussion, treatments, words.
Venus Slick - synthesizers, short wave radio, airfx, treatments.
Chuck Nowakowski - bass, loops, drum machines, treatments.
Aaron Evans - acoustic/electronic drums/percussion.

The album "Sea Horse & Seraphim" was created on a diet of early Cocteau Twins, 1969-1980 era Pink Floyd, Interpol and Joy Division.
This album has the same band and close to the same mood as "Androidal Tissue". This time however, Tory's piano has been replaced with his acoustic guitar, Venus has added an Alesis AirFX to her Arp and Octave analogue synthesizers and Chuck noodles with an ancient drum machine. As usual, the Legendary Pink Dots, Brian Eno and David Bowie fixation is apparent. The song "Mountains" has a very "Japan (David Sylvian) like quality to it.
