Album Notes

StarFish are a truly international group with teams in both Melbourne, Australia, and Auckland, New Zealand.
They tour schools, libraries, preschools and festivals in both countries and are known for the incredible amount of child-involvement they generate. Their zany performances are both intelligent and child-centred and feature finely crafted songs and stories.
Kids adore them. Goats enjoy them too!

I LOVE WATER is an exquisite collection of songs, some of which feature in “WaterSense”, which tours schools and preschools in both countries. Two of the songs (“Carry it in, Carry it out” and “The Beach belongs to everyone” were written for Coast Action/ Coast Care which run a summer program in Victoria on beaches and in malls, which StarFish has headlined for the last three years.

This remarkable album celebrates water in a variety of ways:
a) Some of the songs are scientific – lyrics describe the property of water and the Water Cycle.
b) Some concentrate on conservation issues.
c) “Water Sense” focuses on water safety.
d) “Dog paddle” and “Seabed Shuffle” are fun songs.
e) “Ocean Dance” is a sonic poem.
