When I turned off the radio 10 years ago,I was convinced that I would never hear any new "QUALITY ROCK" again. But thanks to the GOD of Double-leads, bar chords,Real singers!,and a rythm section that accually knows how to load up a band on it's back, plow through the haze of Rock-band wanna-be's,and deliver their song straight into the heart of this Rock enthusiast,I finally have a reason to pay attention again! Starr doesn't play music, they play songs! Remember that?,when good musicians wrote good songs that had a story,or a lesson,- or at least a point! Back that up with great music performed by great musicians, and You will be hard-pressed not to "LISTEN UP"! I was married to my music for most of my life when she left me several years ago. She's come back to me know, and her name is STARR!

This is a great classic rock album. The songs reminded me of many of the great groups of the best Rock and Roll era, the 70's. The excellant guitar work mixed in with the keyboard and driving bass and drums lines, took me back to when true rock ruled. I look foreward to another gift of music from Starr and would love to see them live. Their lyrics say it all, give me the music and keep the videos and other distractions. Todays bands can't make music that can stand on its own so they try to confuse us into thinking they are good. Starr's step back to a better time is refreshing and long awaited by true rock fans. Keep up the good work Starr, you've proved intelligent rock does still exist in our universe!

If you are a fan of 70's style classic rock, and, as I, have been yearning for fresh, good music to replace what passes for rock music these days, this CD is for you. This Pueblo, CO, based band brings together many, many years of combined musical experience in various bands to produce "Listen Up: the Search for Intelligent Rock". The title is self-explanatory. There is nice dual-lead guitar work supported by strong B3, bass, and drum lines. The music is all original, but there are tunes with styles that will put you in mind of Kansas and the Stray Cats. The catchy, and sometimes thought-provking, lyrics are very refreshing. I put this CD on my MP3 player with several gigs of blues and classic rock. Any Starr tune that pops up in random play fits right in without skipping a beat. As a classic rock enthusiast, that's the highest praise I can think of. Sokmeone might ask "Who is that?", but no one will ask "What is that?". Clasic Rock is back. You can't go wrong with Starr, so get it and Listen Up!
