Album Notes

Stavia was born and raised in Kenya, and started writing songs on piano and guitar as a child. Her lyrics are poetic without being pretentious, always entertaining, thought provoking and will strike a chord with anyone who has lived and loved.

She has been likened to Dido, Janis Ian and Carly Simon, and her songs have been featured on national BBC radio in the UK, One of her songs has been used on a BBC soundtrack.

Stavia plays piano and guitar and the band consists of Grant Jamieson on guitar, Rob Fergus Smith on drums, and Andy Coughlan on bass.

This is the 2006 version of the album and has been remastered by John Brough (Queen, Cat Stevens, Joss Stone, Beautiful south) who has also produced 4 of the tracks.

Stavia has two other albums - 'The Way You Are' - and 'Forbidden fruit' - also available on CdBaby

This album (Deep Waters, 2005) has gold written on it, holding many great tracks including out of the star tracks I Don't Need You and Break Loose, two of my faves. This woman's voice fits well with the tone of this album and the background music blends well with her lyrics. I really like this album and for anyone into smart rock/ pop will need to check this out definitely.
