Stay the Dreamlife is currently the acoustic solo project of guitarist/singer/songwriter Joshua Smith from Columbus, Ohio. The first album, "Heart is where the absence is", serves as a possible basis for a powerful band in the Columbus area, but also stands on it's own as an impressive melodic rock record, even without a full band sound. The album showcases powerful and heartfelt melodic vocals backed by rhythmically gripping and masterful guitar melodies. The songwriting heard in this album has been characterized as "Intense", "Gut-wrenching", and "Emotional", and has been praised for its consistency from song to song.
