Album Notes

Members of Wisconsin's Straight Edge Crack Whores and Vitamin King suddenly found themselves sitting around waiting when band members split to pursue other projects. Something to Do got them all off their couches and back where they belong; rockin' the ska scene. Playing shows around Wisconsin including the Skappleton music festival, featuring Mustard Plug, and dates on the Ska Bands Unite Tour brought the band to the attention of many young fans. Casio Interstate Music (a local music store) selected the band to play in their local music showcase. The guys recorded a new track in Cascio's studio for release on the store's local band compilation. The band recently won the Marquette University battle of the bands and will appear on the world's largest music festival, Summerfest, this summer in Milwaukee as their prize. S2D hits the road this year to promote their first EP "Naked Pigeons Inside!" on Trapdoor Records. The 6 song CD combines ska and punk with horn-driven rock and satisfies your thirst for catchy horn hooks and vocal harmonies. Keep an eye out for them at colleges and clubs around the Midwest.

If you're a ska fan, you'll want Something To Do. They KICK ASS!!!

This is something to listen to. Naked Pigeons Inside is extraordinarily clever lyrically, along with skank worthy melodies and tempo variations that are impressive to say the least. I'm no lesbian but I can't stop singing about looking up Mandy's plade skirt. It's rare to hear a horn section rock so hard and sound so good. The only complaint,... only 6 songs.

filling the third wave ska void!

This CD is so freakin' good I can't even stand it. After the Ska-boom of the mid-nineties, the little kiddies moved on to other things and took their dollars with them. The Bosstones and Toasters soldier on, of course. But some of the smaller great bands of that era broke up or only limp on in diminished form -- The Smooths, The Pilfers, Pietasters, Spring-Heeled Jack USA, etc. When CDBaby recommended this CD in addition to The Players CD I was buying, I listened to the sound clips on the site. I heard about 30 seconds of the title track before adding it to my order. This is a completely solid EP. Tracks 1 and 5 grab you right away. Catchy, up-tempo ska that grabs you right away. Song 6 starts slower, but picks up quickly and is my reigning favorite track at the moment. And the rest of the album is strong stuff that grows on you as you play the CD over and over. Which you will. If you like the bands I named above, or Big D and the Kids Table, or Catch-22, or Dance Hall Crashers, plunk down your $6 and pick up this EP. Colin Sellar Washington, DC
