Album Notes

STEEL SUNRISE is an ensemble based in Connecticut (USA), performing music for pan (steel drums).  Its repertoire ranges from traditional calypso, socas by steel pan masters such as Robert Greenidge, Ray Holman, and Len "Boogsie" Sharpe, and Caribbean adaptations of jazz and American pop music.

The members of the group are all seasoned veterans of the Connecticut music scene, with a broad range of musical backgrounds ranging from Caribbean music, to jazz, classical and Avant Garde.

Steel Sunrise has performed in virtually every imaginable context, ranging from concerts and recitals to private parties and corporate events. The ensemble is also available for educational programs, at the elementary, secondary, and collegiate levels.
