For the past decade New Jersey has produced new and upcoming talent. Such as Redman, Naughty By Nature, and now most recently songwriter, and singer Steeve Sam (yes spelled correctly). Born in Cap-Haitien, Haiti. The New Jersey bred talent claims his singing and songwriting was happened upon him by mistake. After trying his hand at rhyming he discovered he could sing by imitating Bone Thugs N Harmony. " Songwriting for me was a good mistake. I started out writing love poems for 10 dollars and since I loved singing one day I just tried to write a song to this beat and the songwriting came out. So now I 've been songwriting ever since I was 16 years old."- Steeve Sam

He credits Musiq, R.Kelly, Donell Jones, and Michael Jackson as major influences in his singing. With a sensuality and maturity much older than his 19 years old, He is set to take the place paved before him by such R&B crooners such as R.Kelly and Teddy Pendergrass. "I want to make lovemaking classics like r. did with 12 play. No songs skipped!"

His independently released single "I want U" is currently making noise in the streets and in the industry. "It's just a song that once me and my writing and producing partner (Gerald Deus producer, and songwriter) heard the beat. We both knew it was hot. I played it for him over the phone and he got to the studio almost as soon as I hung up the phone. It took us only an hour to write and lay the song down in the studio. Just quick work cause we both felt it. He's a bit older than me so he naturally has more experience with the women than I do. So he kind of knows what to write to right about with those types of songs. But i'll learn it soon enough."

But as much as he wants to be a solo artist he's just as hungry with being a successful songwriter and producer. "As much I want this record deal and to be successful I would like my Production Company (Final Element Productions) and publishing company to be just as successful writing and producing for other artists. So if a solo artists' record deal happens first that's cool and if a publishing deal happens first that's just as cool. I'll take it."-Steeve Sam

His demo is currently finished and he still working on his music. He understands that this business is built around hype. "I 've been to so many labels and they all said I was talented but they never offered a deal. Only one A&R took us to the side and told us for us to get signed you have to create a buzz so that's what we've been doing. I feel that the music that I am creating is way better than what's on my demo. I have enough material to create a album and I know I can create this hype. I love singing for the simple fact that when I sing I'm happy. Singing for me is a release it takes me away from the harsh realities of life."- Steeve Sam
