Album Notes

Review:
"Steff Mahan has been described as alt-country, but this CD rocks, rolls, gets bluesy and then rips your heart out with love songs that quite possibly will make you weep.. Steff's songs are about real life stuff, sometimes raw---but frankly, so well crafted there's no wonder these ten tunes are so catchy. They'll catch you and keep you."

About the CD:
After a year long U.S. tour to promote her debut album, Nashville-based artist, Steff Mahan, has released her second Lounge Hound Records project titled 42.50. Produced by Michael Grimes (Grimey), 42.50 is a compelling collection of people, places, and stories from life on the road that rocks with the talents of Will Kimbrough, Brother Henry, and J.D. Wilkes of the Legendary Shack Shakers.

Steff's sound is sweet and soulful with just the right amount of grit, ranging from edgy guitar and harmonica to violin and cello. With a voice that is pure and powerful and lyrics that are heart-crafted and
rock-solid, it's hard not to get hooked on the emotional truth that comes out of this born songwriter's mouth.

Succeeding largely on her own terms, Steff plays music because she loves it and because she wants to share this love with others. It's exactly this desire which allows her to captivate an audience; to take them on an intimate tour of her music; to stay long after her shows talking to
everyone; to call nearly every person she meets a friend.

... is how I would describe Steff's music. However you feel - you can listen to this "country-y", "pop-y", "blues-y" mix. If you feel like crying or like kicking the next trashcan or like dancing your ass off AND if you like some good "country-y", "pop-y", "blues-y" mix, then this is your CD to buy!!! I highly recommend it!!!

Steff is the kind-of artist that sees into the soul of humanity. Everything that comes from her mouth is heart felt...sincere and is sung for you personally. She is the kind of artist that changes lives. You find your self quoting her lyrics at a dinner party. And when you do people stop and say wow...amazing. That is who and what steff is....humanly amazing! If you love music....then both her records are a must for your collection.
