Jon Steinmeier is a Chicago based songwriter, teacher and rocker. His "Star Wagon" record sold an all time record eight hundred thousand billion zillion katrillion copies in under 7 minutes in 2001, forever engraving Jon's name into the imaginary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for being almost totally super awesome. "Laugh and Lie Down" is Jon's most recent and musically diverse endevor, combining elements of piano pop, techno, rock, and lo-fi with brutal honesty and creative satire. Jon's genre-jumping songwriting and creative tone and texture choices create a specific vibe per track, and a record that is engaging and character driven. As a multi-instrumentalist and theory junky, Jon plays all the instruments on this record, including piano, organ, drums, bass, and melodica.
