NOT a sappy chick band. Tight 3 part harmonies, Guitar, mandolin, & fiddle create Edgy Real Songs with a bluesy-bluegrassy-folk feel. Loved by audiences from Nashville, TN to Austin, TX, to Good Old Indiana. Listen to music samples here.

Album Notes

So, We’ll admit that we weren’t too creative when naming this group, but audiences love us anyway! We are 3 strong, real, passionate women, who come from very different places. The universe, through a long strange list of “coincidences” has brought us together to create this edgy/soulful/real life music. We didn’t want to fancy it up too much, the acoustic nature of the CD is our live sound, just the way we do it gig after gig.

Stella plays a big guitar. A truly gifted songwriter with a mind for brilliant back-up vocals & quirky-sweet harmonies. Her songs, “See Her Dance”, “How Does It Feel”, and “Mockingbird” show influences of bluegrass, country, & funky-folk. Her funky-gypsy-reggae song “Betty” won her a trip to Austin, TX. & a songwriters spotlight at the Commodore in Nashville, TN. Her list of credits includes opening for the late-great Johnny Cash, John Prine, & Pat Benetar.

Jane has a big voice. From thrashing blues to soft jazz to sweet bluegrass, she takes it on & tears it down. Blues Review magazine says that she sings with “Personality & Power” & her songs & mandolin have earned her a coveted songwriters spotlight at the Bluebird Café in Nashville,TN. Listen to “You’re Still On My Mind”, “The Breakdown”, & “Those Eyes Don’t Lie” co written by none other than Stella! Download other originals from her blues CD, also available on CD Baby entitled “CODE BLUE featuring Bobbie (Jane) Lancaster”. That’s right, she has an alias…Long story. If you want to know more, please see the official website (the link is over there on your left!).

Andrea’s violin speaks to the soul & brings the emotion of her music home. Her brassy vocals reflect the rocky-funk spirit of her writing. This Boston girl started out as a classically trained violinist, and her love of smoky blues, Cajun rhythms, & improvisational funk have intertwined to create a sound that is entirely unique. Andrea’s songs, “Not Gonna Settle for the Blues” & “Don’t Worry” showcase her writing and edgy guitar while “Water Falls” inspired an impromptu violin solo in the studio that took our breath away.

They’re no angels, but they have stolen the hearts of audiences from Austin, TX to Nashville, TN. For more information about these women, current gig schedule, & photo’s see the official website www.stellaandjane.com.

Who are these people? I had no idea, now I can't get enough! I think these girls can really do it all! Such a great mix of songs that really touch the heart, its like they are telling my life story. Each song has that feeling that it was written especially for or about you. I bought three cd's and can't wait for the next release, I think I love Jane?
