With Stella‘s first album „The Palace of Yin“ the singer and oriental dancer established her very own style of chillout: ethereal vocals without lyrics and combined with lush electronic arrangements, oriental grooves and empathic guitar work.
The new CD „L‘Ame de la Lune“ (the soul of the moon) builds on these foundations with an even more luxurious sound and takes you to new emotional heights.
Stella lives partly in Switzerland and partly on the island of Ibiza which keeps inspiring her. Stella about her new album: “To relax, to lie on the beach, soft waves and soft hips. Trance dance. Music brings movement into life. The sweetness of the tropics and the palm trees, a chant of joy. Playful but without dissolving oneself. Sounds of yearning and the sea evaporates into outbursts of joy. Dreamy, smooth but with stormy encounters. Music and dance, soft and vigorous, victory for joy.”
Stella’s music evokes a feeling of longing. It’s warm and intellectual at a time. L’Ame de la Lune is like a picture that moves and melts into ever new images. Pictures of beauty that carry you out into the night where you’ll discover the soul of the moon.
L’Ame de la Lune has taken three years to complete. The music has a touch of classics although it is fully electronic except the vocals, the percussion and the guitar. It has been recorded in Ibiza and Switzerland.
Feedback
This style is not the kind of music I listen to very often. But I’m very surprised by the power that comes over. These smooth ethereal voices and the rhythm like a pulsating heart are a very appealing combination to me.
