For those who know Cantor Stephanie Shore’s music, it has become a cherished part of our lives. Cantor Stephanie Shore’s music is living Judaism" her pure voice is a gentle guide, which embraces the soul of individuals and the soul of our People.
Cantor Stephanie Shore received her Bachelors Degree from Florida International University, majoring in voice (under full scholarship for four years). She has entertained across the United States, and other parts of the world, including Israel and South America, since she was a teenager.
Cantor Stephanie Shore has written and composed many original popular and Hebrew melodies, which earned her the recognition of becoming a finalist at the World Jewish Song Festival in Israel. Her compositions have also been published by Transcontinental Music, an arm of the Union for Reform Judaism. Stephanie and her mother, Cantor Rita Shore, harmonized together in a wonderful recording entitled, “My Soul”. “My Soul” is a beautiful blend of original and inspirational Jewish Music where prayers, blessings and spiritual thoughts come alive. In addition her other recording entitled: “Quiet Time” will lift your spirit to great heights, while guiding you on your journey through life. In addition to her composing talents, Stephanie appeared as an actress in Broadway and musical reviews all over the region singing and dancing her way into the hearts of all that attended. Playing her guitar is just one more dimension that has helped her in teaching others the love of music.
Along with Rabbi Richard Agler, Stephanie has composed many purim shpiels and the two have affectionately become known as the King and Queen of the Purim Shpiel. They have launched a Purim Shpiels website where all of their shpiels can be viewed, listened to and purchased. Their shpiels are being performed at congregations all over the country. Stephanie served as Cantor for the Hillel Foundation in Miami Florida for nine years. Now, Stephanie is currently serving as Cantor of Congregation B'nai Israel in Boca Raton, Florida. She is an inspiration to all, leading the Alter Chai Notes (the Senior Choir), The Shultones (CBI’s Teen Rock Worship Band), The Chai Lights (CBI’s Adult Rock Worship Band) and The Confirmation Worship Band in addition to many other cantorial responsibilities she conducts a meditation group that teaches healing and renewal through meditation. Cantor Shore is the coordinator of the Bar/Bat Mitzvah program at Congregation B’nai Israel supervising tutors and making sure that the students are prepared for their service. She participates in community programs, adding the beauty of Jewish Music wherever she can. She also participates in lifecycle events such as weddings, funerals, pastoral counseling and hospital visits. Cantor Shore has brought great joy to all who have been blessed to hear and feel the power of her remarkable musical talents.
The Jewish Journal took a readers’ poll to name the “Best Things In South Florida.” Cantor Shore was named “Best Cantor.” She was the recipient of the “Breaking the Glass Ceiling Award” presented to Florida women who make a difference, by the National Association of Women Business Owners. It was presented for outstanding achievement in the Cantorial field, for supporting other women, and helping them strive for their goals, by teaching them that anything is attainable with focus and dedication. She also was awarded with the “Sh’ma Yisrael Award” presented by Israel Bonds for her outstanding support of Israel. In addition she has appeared on radio, T.V., and has been publicized in numerous newspaper articles and publications.
She is a member of the Cantor’s Association of Florida, Guild of Temple Musicians, the Women’s Cantors Network and a cantorial intern in the Cantors Assembly.
