Album Notes

Stephanie Erdel lost her boyfriend in the September 11th attacks and nearly lost her own life as she witnessed the collapse of the World Trade Center from two blocks away.

During her traumatic recovery and grief, she began writing prolifically and created the songs that appear on "Running From Fear."

Originally from New York, Stephanie moved to Los Angeles to record her first LP with legendary funk drummer Neftali Santiago of Mandrill. According to Neftali , "she bled all over this cd." Her lyrics are true to her soul and a filtering out of emotions post- 9/11. Her music has strong emotional depth but still rocks.

Running From Fear is a real personal testimony of an experience that affected the whole world. It doesn't dive into the event or specifics. Stephanie just deals with feelings of loss, strength, security, and hope. A truly moving album full of pop songs, punk rock rhythms, and bluesy ballads.

Stephanie is also a trained painter, painting the original album cover in oils.

WoW!! I bought this c.d. randomly becuase I love to support
new artists, being a musician myself, and i was completely blown away by this album! Stephanie's voice is beautiful,
