Album Notes

I was given the privilage of living and working in South Korea twice. The first time I lived and worked near the communist boarder as a soldier in the town of Munsan. My most recent visit included living and working in Seoul, as an elementary music teacher.

This time around I did more professional performances. Before I left the country for Japan, I studied one of the Korean Folk music instruments at the Seoul arts center. I also peformed and recorded with a Korean Folk Musician for over two years. My last year in Korea was probably one of my best times. I experienced things that I could only dream of doing as a musician. I met some great musicians and was able to perform with them in a large concert hall. It was during this time that I felt inspired to produce an arrangement of the popular Korean Folk song, Arrirang. It includes my my style infused with an Asian melody along with three Korean musicians: Minjin Jeong (Guyaguam), Hae-jong Han (Jang-ju), and Yirang Nam (Violin).
