The Stephen Parker Band effortlessly blends elements of folk, country and rock together, to create a distinctive presentation of original music...a musical union of melody, rhythm and verse. The purity of voices and instruments offer a glimpse of that which has come before, while simultaneously revealing the promise of something entirely new.
For the past two decades, Stephen Parker has tirelessly honed and polished his skills as a singer, songwriter and performing/recording artist. Performing as a solo artist and the leader of several bands, he has developed a dedicated and loyal following, which has embraced his seemingly boundless repertoire of original compositions. Having released 5 CDs to date, his music simply defies and transcends categorization.
Over the years, the Stephen Parker Band has shared festival stages with a diverse group of national artists including: Trout Fishing in America, Cheryl Wheeler, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Goose Creek Symphony, John Lombardo & Mary Ramsey of 10,000 Maniacs, Highway 101, The Andy Summers Band, the Tony Levin Band, David "Fathead" Newman, and Arthur Lee & Love. The band has also appeared with local Philadelphia favorites including John Flynn, Lisa Beth-Weber, Mercy River, Martin's Dam and The Rigbees

Bruce Brodeen, owner of NOT LAME RECORDINGS, had this to say in his review about "IRON HORSE"
"We don't get a lot of CD's in here that sound like this wonderfully earthy 6 song EP but The Stephen Parker Band delivers some of the most moving material that evokes the special spirit of the first two Dan Fogelberg albums from the early 70's, Poco/Pure Prairie League from the same period and Neil Young. The spare, almost cinematic arrangements and lyrics complement the acoustic-base of all the material here. Yes, not what one usually sees here, but soft, fluid vocal melodies work in a most lovely and moving way. Fans of this style of 70's acousti-songcraft, look no further! Recommended."
