I am a Seattle based singer/songwriter. I perform regularly in and around the Seattle area. My audiences range in age from college adults to "boomers". My influences are 60/70's rock, The Beatles, The Byrds, The Who and the music they were influenced by Eddie Cochran, Carl Perkins, Elvis. More recently I have incorporated more traditional country in my performances, i.e. Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, and Hank Snow.
The music I play encourages the audience to sing along, and creates a cheerful, familiar atmosphere that keeps the crowds listening, enjoying, and staying for more.
My original works are an effort to resolve or express my emotions. Music has always been a way for me to understand relationships and feel connections to others. Through the ups and downs, loss and triumphs, no mater where I go "my friends" have always been there maybe not so much in flesh, but always in a song.
I play guitar and sing, occasionally I play Harmonica, banjo, and mandolin.

Up Close & Personal

Stephen P Bucklew is a great songwriter who really puts his emotions on display on this release of 12+ songs. I should know 'cuz we have been close personal friends since 9th grade... which was many... MANY moons ago! I've witnessed - first hand - nearly every emotion that Steve drums up within his songs... and I've never even dated him! With a variety of subjects and emotions to express, Steve covers it all on this, his first release. If you don't already know him, you will by the time you get to the bonus track. Don't short-change yourself by only listening to the clips here... BUY THE ALBUM! Oh yeah... his subtle and minimalist approach both vocally and instrumentally tie everything together as if you were reading a sing-along book.
