notes

In his words: "I howled, drummed, danced, prayed, sang, found teachers and read their books, went to sacred grounds, gatherings and seminars, sat frustrated, prayed some more, sobbed, screamed and laughed, left my body and walked inside a rock the size of a garage where I had a simultaneous visitation by 30 entities followed by sitting in a field of love that was so strong it became visible as the most incredible, warm, beautiful light.... where I sat.... forever changed".

"The music was then free to be the vehicle for the expression of the beauty, radiance and perfection of Divinity Personified".

"While many artists take their first recording to the world
in the search for their audience, I chose to wait, trusting without really knowing what I was waiting for. I just 'knew' that there was something deeper than what I was doing. My early music was progressively leading me farther into myself, and I eventually realized that the music was not to be the tool for my personal transformation.... that my path was to do the inner work and become a conduit for Spirit.

What is a HeartSong?
HeartSongs are created through a spiritual connection to the essence of a soul. As a result of deep spiritual work, Stephen has been gifted with the opening of the ability to read an energy field, and to intuitively translate those readings into musical compositions. This unique recording is created from a personal experience with that soul or with the aid of a photograph, which allows the channel to open for the music to come through Stephen's hands.
The flow is abundant, and Stephen always places complete trust in the perfection of the result. This music is brought forth in the form of a personalized CD for individuals, couples, children, places, animals and even relationships.

Why a HeartSong for the Buffalo?
When Stephen was seven years old and living in western Montana, he had a profound experience while visiting the National Bison Range near Moiese, Montana.
A rare White Buffalo named Big Medicine sttod close by and immediately Stephen felt as though he was looking at a long-lost relative. Since then he has revisited often and has also spent much time in Yellowstone National Park, where he could sit and just "be" with the buffalo, create photographs and feel a connection to something much larger than himself. One day as he sat on a log near Black Sand Basin in Yellowstone, a storm approached and the sky became filled with a vision of the face of One Buffalo, asking Stephen a question about his purpose in life... the question was repeated, with the buffalo adding that this was a single direction road that would require a strong commitment. Blown away and shaking, he heard his own voice say "Yes, but what can I do"?. The answer that came was "Trust, and the way will present itself". He began an odyssey of finding his personal connection to Spirit through sacred questing, deep prayer, inner journey work, drumming, and travel to sacred grounds, asking for his connection to Spirit, and that his life's work be presented to him. As a result of doing the inner work, he has become a conduit through which Spirit can manifest its gifts, one of which is being able to 'hear' a being's inner soul resonance in its musical perfection, and to record that music in a form that others can hear.
Created through that ability, "The HeartSong Of The Buffalo" is a result of a seven year odyssey of surrendering to and trusting the guidance of Spirit.

About Stephen Pike
Stephen has been playing music by ear since he was 4, (he never did learn how to read music), and 55 years later it still creating music but with a unique approach. He is adept in a variety of musical styles, and plays several different instruments. He began composing his original music in 1992, after playing as a professional sine he was 14 years old. His musical influences include Swiss harpist Andreas Vollenweider, Yanni, Kitaro, Bela Fleck, Justin Hayward of the Moody Blues, and David Helfgott, whose life was chronicled in the movie "Shine".

The gift of visual/auditory synesthesia (hearing what something looks like), and a 25 year career in photography add to the experience, allowing the music to come through from a photograph.

This background, combined with his heartfelt connection with indigenous Spiritual traditions, results in music directly channeled through the Heart, from Spirit Within.

As a result of a seven year odyssey of surrendering to and trusting the guidance of Spirit, and deeply influenced by his healing work, he experienced an opening of great magnitude, literally overnight, including a new fluidity of motion in his hands that he had not previously known...this opening was the beginning of the HeartSongs.

Stephen has performed his creative music in many place from Arizona to Idaho. In November of 2003, he performed the opening music for the 6th annual Peace Sunday gathering at the Agape Center in Los Angeles, creating a HeartSong for Dennis Kucinich who was the featured speaker. He has performed his soothing music for church groups, retirement homes, and for a gathering of 30 Body, Mind and Spirit healers working simultaneously in a large room. His music is widely used by massage therapists and yoga practitioners. It has also been in the play stack at John of God in Brazil.
