ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Formed in 2004 in New York City, Stepwell consists mostly of David James Heffernan who sings and plays guitar/piano. In late 2004 David wrote and recorded "A Chemical Way" with engineer Daniel Gross. The tracking was done at Sony Studios on West 54th st and at Daniel's home studio in Battery Park City.
Each copy is hand-painted by good old David himself!

The tracks were built up piece by piece with David playing all the instruments. The use of percussion in sparse but the tracks have their own sense of movement without drums.

Standouts include "i was bored", "terrified" and "guilty bastard".
Each song on this album has it's own mood and vibe, the more times you listen to it, the deeper you fall under its spell.
