Album Notes

Steryle returned to the studio with producer Jamie King to record their full length follow up to “Severance” entitled “Foreshadowing Yesterday.” This album breaks the mold and redefines the band by displaying better melodies, more technicality, and overall better song writing. With “Foreshadowing Yesterday,” Steryle embraces new and exciting transitions, alternate verses, and more complex song structures while still maintaining the accessibility that makes the band unique.

Never in my life have I owned a CD like this. As a local band, they surpass all standards that I have for a band, and this CD is no exception; they truly raised the bar for all bands. There genuinely is not one song on this CD that is skip worthy, and if you feel the need to do so I simply must insist that you're slightly crazy. Every time I listen to this CD I am just so amazed. I always feel like it's my first time listening to it because I'm just so impressed every time. Without Walls is a great way to start the album; it starts out fast and creates an amazing feel to the album. After The Fall has such a catchy chorus, and it's not only singing the whole chorus. David truly brought is all on this CD by truly using the strong voice he's gifted with. My favourite song is "And The Pyres Burn." That song just gets me so pumped up, but yet it's got the catchy melody in the bridge that makes you want to sing your little heart out. For An End has amazing lyrics, and vocal patterns. For a slow, metal song, it's one of the best ones ever written. A Memory Erased has a SICK break down. The devil chords just add a certain... "i don't know what" to it. When Dawn Never Comes shows off David's range, and truly shows off the talent of their new drummer, Phil. World Turns To Dust has awesome harmonies, and everything about it will just get it stuck in your head all day. Ruins and Wakes is the best acoustic song they've written to date. The lyrics are powerful, the harmonies are breath taking, and guitar doesn't make you second guess that it truly is STERyLE, though it may not be heavy, it's still technical. Whatever they've done this go around, they've done right. Though "Severance" was an awesome album, "Foreshadowing Yesterday" blew it out of the water. They're going to do great things with this album.
