Album Notes

NEW TUNES FOR PIANO MAN FANS!

The release of "Politix," the first original CD by Detroit musician Steve Acho, will give today's generation of music fans their very own singer-songwriter-pianist to fall in love with. And for audiences who already adore Billy Joel, Elton John, and Ben Folds it's time to fall in love all over again.

"It's so refreshing and enjoyable to listen to an artist who has brought a focus back to a great melody and lyric, in the true tradition and craft of the songwriter," explained Jim Kissling, Tempermill Studios.

In producing this CD, Steve set out to do more than just create 12 tracks of great original music. He is putting the tradition of singer-songwriter-pianist back in the spotlight with new music relevant to today's audiences. After years of performing in Detroit-area coffee houses and bars, "Politix" is Steve's answer to his fans' demand for more original music, and he's fired up by the enthusiastic response he's getting to pre-released copies of the CD.

Steve's piano and vocal styling are earning acclaim outside of Detroit, including his 2002 Washington D.C. performance of "United We Stand" during the 9/11 anniversary tribute concert at DAR Constitution Hall, that also featured Randy Travis and other music celebrities. Steve even performs as far away as Japan, where audiences love his music, and not just because his many talents include speaking fluent Japanese.

Gary Graff said this of Steve's music: "melodic, well-crafted pop tunes in the mold of Billy Joel and Elton John."

Steve's music may prove as contagious as his personality, making this up-and-coming artist sure to be a hit. Steve is reaching out directly to his fans and potential fans the
do-it-yourself way, rejecting the involvement of a record label. His charismatic stage presence, quirky sense of humor, boundless energy, and avid fans mean that Steve just might be around to stay. You can decide for yourself by auditioning or buying "Politix" online.

This CD had some great new music that is in step with some of Billy Joel's early as well as later stages of his songwriting. The music and lyrics were refreshing. Nice to catch a rising star on the rise.
