ONE BAD MUTHA, GOT A RATTLESNAKE SUITCASE UNDER HIS ARM, Yowza
First solo CD by NYC\'s Steve Broderick shows his immediately identifiable voice on some mellower music than he\'s sang in the past.
UPCOMING SHOWS 2008 -
TSO Winter Tour 2008 go to www.trans-siberian.com for tour dates
Broderick, who has been a vocalist with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra recently, strikes out with a solo effort (and I don\'t mean strikes out like the disc is a loser, rather that he ventures out on his own apart from the band). The sound is solid, with a classic blues-based approach to rock. And Broderick has some good help here - from producer/bassist Mike Lutz, who wrote \"Smokin\' in the Boy\'s Room\" to guitarists Blue Miller (Bob Seger), Joel Hoekstra, and drummer Mark Ambrosino (Stevie Wonder, Michael McDonald). But it is Broderick\'s voice that holds court, a voice which displays a wide range of tones and emotions. On \"You Don\'t Even Know,\" even with guitar lines working back and forth, his vocals still cut through. And on a ballad like \"No Accident,\" Broderick shows a breathy side as the song begins, intoning softly as the chords descend. Yet he can also snarl like a junkyard dog, as on \"Lovelight,\" a song that sounds like a rejuvenated Rolling Stones tune. Of the songs, there is just one cover, \"Never A Day Goes By\" by Artful Dodger, with the other dozen tunes penned by Broderick and his collaborators. Whether the song is a blasting rock number or a pensive ballad, it is Broderick\'s voice that holds it all together thematically. www.stevebroderick.com
\"Steve Broderick is a major talent and fine singer; this worthy debut will no doubt be picked up by a national major label very soon.\"

Awsome

Steve gives an awsome performance with TSO singing Old City Bar and this CD is just as impressive if not more so. If you like blues/rock you will not be disappointed. He is a refreshing change from other artists who have that canned/commercial sound found too often in this era of lack luster talent. Great CD. Great talent.

Love Your CD
author: joanne hershberger
I discovered Steve Broderick through TSO who I finally went to see this last tour - awesome concert. I ordered Steve's CD and have been listening to it extensively since then. Much to my surprise it has the same bluesy rock feel as a lot of great music from the 60's and 70's. I definetly hear influences of the Rolling Stones (especially Exile On Main Street era) and Humble Pie - one of the best blues rock bands ever. If Steve had been a member of any of those bands he would have done them proud. The vocals, songs and musicianship of everyone involved are are outstanding. Especially love the song Sweet Relief - can't seem to get that one out of my head. Brilliant CD. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys great music.
