The Stevedores live in a house together in downtown Madison, Wisconsin. We moved here from New York City in June 2006. It has been an extraordinary and tumultuous year.
We recorded Tamuawok. ourselves over the course of October 2005 - May 2006 with the excellent and indispensable aid of our friends Matt and John.
This is the first full album that we have ever released, and we're really excited about it.
Tamuawok. is our parents' favorite album.

I had the pleasure of going to Michigan recently to see the power and genius that is The Stevedores. Although Spencer is gone from this physical life, he lives on through the music. Live on old soul!!!

I cant express how sad I am that I will never get to see Spencer sing these songs, but am so glad the guys in the band still perform and keep the dream alive. Such a brilliant album; a modern classic.
