Album Notes

From the time that she was old enough to stand in her crib, Stevee Wellons has been singing for family, friends and audiences from Pittsburgh to Las Vegas. Being raised in a musical family has its advantages, and by the age of 14, she was first chair violinist for the Pittsburgh All-City Orchestra and was performing with an all-girl vocal group. At 21, Stevee was performing at clubs all over Pittsburgh with Zipperfoot and Rhythm Machine. A couple of years later she became the house band vocalist for Martel’s Supper Club until she joined a top-40 band called Jump Street. Stevee began working with the popular dance band, Shaker. She soon found herself performing three nights a week in the house band at “Oldies” where she befriended local celebrities like Jimmy Beaumont & Porky Chedwick. During that time, she began singing on studio recording projects by artists like B.E. Taylor, Leon Daniels, Tommy Brown and Chip Davis of the Flamingos. Stevee became a regular studio vocalist for Barnburner Studios in Chicago and Phaze Studios in Baltimore. From 1999 to 2001, Stevee, performed in Las Vegas. When she returned to Pittsburgh she began working with Real Deal and The Elmonics. Currently, she performs with Smooth Groove and Elmoz Fire.
